We would like to thank everyone who attended our Beer Festival between the 2nd and 6th April. Over the 5 days we featured 35 different ales from breweries all over Britain, including 15 ales never before seen at the pub.
Congratulations to the winner of our ‘vote for your favourite beer of the festival’ competition. The results of the vote were:
Joint winner – Malden Gold 3.8% (Mighty Oak)
– Citra 4.2% (Oakham)

We are very proud to announce that we have now reached the landmark figure of 1500 different real ales. We have achieved this feat in just three and a half years, since we opened in September 2010. To mark the achievement Elland brewery kindly did a one off brew, which, needless to say went down very well!
We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support. As without you, reaching 1500 different ales in such a short space of time wouldn’t have been possible.
Cheers, and here’s to the next 500 and reaching 2000!

We would like to thank everyone who attended on Monday 14th January to help celebrate selling 100o different cask ales since opening in September 2010. The actual date that we sold the 1000th ale was November 19th and it was Wold Top ‘Anglers Reward’, and congratulations go to those who won on the ‘guess the date competition’.
The event was also run to raise funds for the Candlelighters charity and we are delighted to announce that £421.56 was raised. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and made donations and to the breweries who supplied gifts to be used as prizes on the night.

We have now served over 1800 different Real Ales here at The Old Cock since opening in September 2010! Our 9 hand pumps consist of a permanent Bitter (Theakstons Best Bitter 3.8%), a permanent Pale Ale (Ilkley Mary Jane 3.5%) and a permanent Premium Ale (Timothy Taylors Landlord 4.3%) with the other 6 pumps constantly rotating .
A full list of all the different ales we have served can be found in the ‘Beer History’ section of the website, and with us serving around 25 guest ales a week the list is only going to get bigger!

Here at The Old Cock we treat our cider as seriously as we treat our beer. We have 2 constantly rotating guest Real/Farmhouse Ciders all kept at cellar temperature and dispensed on draught pumps. Since opening in September 2010 we’ve had over 100 different Real/Farmhouse Ciders, from Janets Jungle Juice to Fiery Fox. Perrys, including Olivers to Broadoak Premium and Fruit Ciders like Strawberry and Passionfruit.
So next time your in why not try something a bit different. Please ask the staff for more information, or if your still not sure just ask for a taster!
